Assessment is a way of finding out if learning has taken place. It enables to find out if a learner has gained the required skills, knowledge, understanding and/or attitudes and behaviors needed at a given point in time, towards their learning program. Assessment also provides learners with an opportunity to demonstrate what progress they have made and what they have learnt so far. Without assessment, No one will know how well, or what the learner has learnt.
Two typical kinds of Competency Assessment are: Formative (During learning session) and Summative or integrated assessment which is also known as End-point Assessment (EPL). Assessment in short is a decision-making process.
An assessor is a qualified professional who evaluates a person's skills, knowledge, professional behavior and work history to help determine their Competency. An assessor’s role is to examine the examples provided and determine the competence that has been demonstrated. Applicants must have met the required average competence level prescribed in competence standards to be granted qualification.
A Senior Industry worker, qualified in the relevant field could be a competent Assessor.
NVQF Assessor is a person who is assessing the candidate with the help of the evidence guide and competency standards prepared by the industry & notified by NAVTTC. They are certified by TTB / BTE under NAVTTC and are responsible for collecting evidence of competency and making judgments about the qualification of Assessee. 2,918 NVQ Assessors are available across the country to determine occupational competencies for around 350 NVQs.
In 2024, 329 NVQ Assessors are available in the Sindh province.

Assessment process verification is the process of ensuring that an assessment is conducted fairly and accurately, and that the results are consistent and reproducible.
An assessment process verifier's job is to ensure that the assessment process is consistent and accurate, and that assessors are applying the correct guidelines. They may also provide support and guidance to assessors, and recommend improvements to the competency program. Ensuring consistency & accuracy, resolving issues, provide feedback, Observing learners, observing learners, verify workplace evidence and making recommendations are some main tasks a verifier should perform. Depending on the role, an assessment process verifier may also be known as an assessment validator, internal verifier, or external verifier.
NVQF Assessment Verifier is an experienced person with working knowledge of NVQF Training & assessment system and can differentiate the responsibilities of an Assessor and verifier.
The Manager of Assessment Center is a Member of TTB Sindh Assessment team who is responsible to: -Lisean among rest of assessment team and TTBS, -Arrange on time assessment. -Assist (Help out) the Team to conduct assessment according NVQ principles, -Supply Assessment package back to TTB Sindh with in Three working days after assessment.
A Manager From TTB Sindh, STEVTA, NAVTTC or a Senior facility member from NAVTTC accredited institution. Monitoring feedback acts as a tool during moderation of assessment meeting.
